PKF Yuzhno-Kuril'skij Rybokombinat Co., Ltd. (Russian for South-Kuril Fish Processing Plant) was established in 1946 and is one of the largest fishing companies in the Far Eastern basin. The company carries out fishing and fish processing in the areas of the Sea of Okhotsk, the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka, and Japan.

Main fishing items

Squid, flounder, smelt, salmon (char, pink salmon, chum salmon, kunja), pollock, navaga, perch, halibut, Iwashi sardine, herring, mackerel, greenling, and cod.

Fleet

The company's fleet consists of 29 vessels, including 2 medium-sized fishing and refrigerator vessels, 3 small-sized fishing vessels (schooner type), 3 dry cargo vessels, 2 small-sized fishing vessels, and Os Reefer refrigeration vessel, with a capacity of up to 1250 tons of products.

Onshore production facilities

Production center of PKF Yuzhno-Kuril'skij Rybokombinat Co., Ltd. located on Kunashir Island includes an onshore processing complex with a capacity of 200 tons of finished fish products per day, the largest plant in Russia for the production of fishmeal (fish flour) and oil, a salmon fish hatchery, a refrigeration complex with a capacity of 1,200 tons, a container terminal, and a separate berth that accepts ships with a draft of up to 7 meters.
